Technical FAQs

Do I need high-speed internet access to attend?

Yes. Students and families are responsible for providing their own computer and internet service. Qualified, enrolled families may be eligible to receive a loaner computer from Tennessee Virtual Academy (TNVA) to support the learning process. These computers are instructional property and must be returned when the student leaves the school. TNVA will arrange for technical support and troubleshooting for these systems.

What computer skills are required?

Use of the computer is an important part of the online school program. The Learning Coach needs to have at least basic computer skills. In the early grades it is mostly the Learning Coach who interacts with the computer. Junior high school students are most successful if they have basic computer skills.

How do I get technical support?

TNVA families needing customer care or technical support for computers or the online school can call 866.512.2273 (select option 2).
